Just what we needed for holiday weekend. For me and my friends. Food was great. My cocktails were awesome.
We ordered snow crabs legs they ware great not too salty.
Service is not very fast but it is place to chill out. No rushing.
Slowdown.
Life is good. -

Drive down that rough, "dirt" road, I dare ya. Because it's totally worth it. I had been talking about cracking crabs and going somewhere local since we moved here in May 2019 and finally found the spot here! Everyone working was friendly from the time we got there until we left. Our waiter, Dan, was knowledgeable about their market offerings and especially helpful given it's been years since my husband and I ordered crabs at all!
Speaking of crabs, there was no skimping on the dozen we ordered. I was pleasantly surprised by not only the portion, but also how much meat we got out of them. Price was decent.
My husband also ordered the fish tacos which ended up being one of the best, if not the best, order of fish tacos we've ever eaten.
Bonus: there is ample outside seating with views of the water and both an inside and outside bar to enjoy. The inside of the restaurant was nice as well but I only glanced when we went inside to ask about a table. -

Theres many signs pointing the direction....and many cars lining the road, its definitely a hot spot, all the people...and boats out in the water too..
Interesting place, there's a great big deck and tiki bar along the water. On a day like today you will be lucky to find a seat as all were taken...the aroma of steamed crabs, mussels, clams and other seafood will make anyone eager to order.....Full bar, drinks were flowing, good service as all were happy enjoying the live band.
Inside more tables, another bar. I was able to find a seat in here. I tried the crab dip, it could used a bit more flavor, a shaker of old bay was on the counter that helped.
The fish tacos were very good, Cod fish lightly battered, just the perfect crispness...I recommend these.
As busy as they were the staff was very pleasant and friendly. They valued the customers as many knew each others first name. Friendly fun place, I had heard stories, glad I was able to see what it was all about.
Next visit, I'll be sure to have time to sit and order steamed crabs, as you need to have time to work for your eats.... -

Stopped in for lunch since was in town, tucked away spot down by the river off the tracks. Super casual spot. I was recommended the killer driller drink and wow! This thing was super sweeet barely tasted any alcohol didn't even finish it. The food was okay nothing stood out to me. Our table ordered oysters, salad, burgers, pasta and some other friend seafood bites. We did like the batter coated on the calamari.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Seems to get packed by 2pm for that Friday we were there. -

Started with the cream of crab soup. Very good with thick pieces of crab meat in every bite! The crab cake sandwich was like that! Very big and heavy and I didn't taste any filler. They dust it with lemon pepper seasoning but it didn't detract from the taste at all. My side was baked beans and they were good. Not too sweet, which is a plus for me.
The next time you're in Dumfries, Va and want to try something off the beaten path (wayyy off), try Tim's.
